I’ve been working closely with Au-heppa, the lead game developer, and Phillip Marlowe, the in-game voice talent to record the song. After discussing the vision of the game and song with Heppa, I knew I couldn’t resist the chance to explore the dark side of Half Life and write a song from the point-of-view of the Civil Protection, the human police force that the Half Life aliens use to help subjugate humanity.

Most of you will remember the last Half Life themed song I wrote titled G-Man’s Last Breath. If you haven’t heard it yet you can listen to it on iTunes or the Music Page. Many thanks go to Au-heppa for the opportunity to work on such an interesting project. And to Phillip for always being a pleasure to work with. It’s the direct result of years of playing one of the greatest gaming series in history; Half Life.

You’ll basically need 3 things to fully enjoy this song:

1. To be a Half Life fanboy (or girl).

2. To love and understand the Half Life story.

3. To want to know the the secret behind the story that ties everything together…

If you have no idea what the game’s story is about but would like to enjoy this song, check out this link to get a handle on it. The inspiration for this song came after reading a portion of an interview with Doug Lombardi where he spoke about the next and supposedly last installment of the series; Half-Life 2: Episode Three.
