And It Was Good

After 20-30 hours of recording last weekend and some last minute tweaking on my birthday my second EP, “Number 2: A Play on Turds,” is complete. Look for everything from crunkin’ hip hop to crazy acoustic jams to hit online stores in about 3 weeks.
To celebrate the second EP release we’re going to have an ONLINE RELEASE PARTY right here on jonathanlewis.me. Check out the cool new live chat box near the bottom of the side bar on the right. In roughly 3 weeks (sign up by email on the right for updates when the release gets closer) we’re all going to gather here on the site, check out some funny tunes and chat it up with each other. I’ll post the songs here on the site and we’ll top off the night with a free album give away.
Hopefully everyone can make it. It’s an experiment of sorts that should be really fun.
Just a quick update on the new music video – the main editing is complete as of last weekend and we’re just massaging out the finishing touches now. We should be all set for the release this weekend. Check out lindelemedia.com for more sweet film projects by David Ferry Jr.
So I hope you can tell that I’m REALLY excited about the upcoming EP and music video release. You have no idea how much your support helps, so pass on the word and tell a friend about the biggest music video and album release of 2009! … so far…
Peace!
Here Goes Nothin
I just finished vocals on the 4th song. If I’m going to make my March release deadline I’ve got to finish recording the album by next week.
I think I’ve saved the best song for last. It’s a new hip hop hit you won’t want to miss. Thankfully I’ve got a long weekend (all hail the chief), so I’ve decided I’m going to spend every waking hour recording and mixing the album. If I make it out alive, I hope to have the finished album ready for release within a month.
If you’re wondering how the music video filming went, it was fantastic. Not to give anything away, but between the blood, squirting liquids, and long hours, I think we’re in for something special. Look for the music video release in the next 2 weeks.
Here’s a little something to help you celebrate this great national holiday.
2 Guys 1 Guitar
No seriously. Some people may know that Kyle Woods and I worked together on a lot of music a few months ago, and one of our plans was to develop a shtick with 2 guys and 1 guitar. We haven’t gotten around to it yet, but it looks like we weren’t the first to think of it. Is it me or is the guy in the back really into it?
Rockin
and Rollin. It’s been a month since I released Poligamize Me and the reception’s been great. Thanks to everyone for your feedback and support. I wanted to give a quick update on current projects.
So far I’m on target to release the second album by March. My goal is to release a 5-song EP (mini album) every three months. The second album, currently untitled, is over half way done. I just finished vocals on the 3rd song tonight and hope to blaze through the next 2 songs over the next 2 weeks.
We’ve also been hard at work on a new music video. I’ve teamed up with the most talented David Ferry Jr. at Lindele Media (see I’m a Benchwarmer for our first project) and can’t wait to see what happens. We’re scheduled to start shooting this weekend. Look for the new video this month.
As always, you’re thoughts and comments are most appreciated. So let me know what you think!
Onward and upward!
